WCK - Hurricane Ian Response
World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team was on the ground in response to Hurricane Ian. Cooking from a Field Kitchen in Fort Myers, and partnering with local restaurants and food trucks, WCK served tens of thousands of meals every day to families impacted by the hurricane as well as first responders. WCK delivered nourishing, freshly prepared meals to walk-up distribution sites and through community partners. To date, WCK has served more than 600,000 meals and sandwiches to distribution points in cities including Fort Myers Beach, Cape Coral, Englewood, Port Charlotte, and beyond. Over the course of their response, WCK has used boats, planes, and helicopters to get critical food to Pine and Sanibel Islands, both of which were cut off during the storm.
